C. North Coast Grantmaking Partnership: Children’s Summer Lunch Program
Reference: Allocate $1,350 to cover costs associated with providing lunches for low income children within the Commission’s target population through the annual Children’s Summer Lunch Program implemented by Food for People.
D. North Coast Grantmaking Partnership: ChildSpree
Reference: Allocate $2,500 for children in need to secure new clothes for entering kindergarten in the fall of 2014.
VII. Action Item: FIRST 5 HUMBOLDT Ten Year Forecast
Reference: The Commission will consider the updated Ten Year Forecast. This is the Commission’s long range financial plan and it is updated each year prior to the close of the fiscal year. Nancy Howatt, fiscal consultant, will review the updated Ten Year Forecast with Commissioners. (15 min)
VIII. Action Item: Annual Audit
Reference: The Commission will consider contracting with an outside auditor to prepare the financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2014. (15 min)
IX. Action Item: Mattole Valley Resource Center
Reference: Resources have been provided by the Commission and the Humboldt County Office of Education to assist with the development of a family resource center in the Mattole Valley. Progress has been made and additional resources are required at this time to further secure family resource center services within the communities of Honeydew and Petrolia. (15 min)
X. Information Item: Music & Movement in Playgroups
Reference: With plans underway to articulate a Playgroup Initiative in Fiscal Year 2014/2015, music and movement will be a fundamental new component for playgroups. The Commission will be briefed on a proposal from Jose Quezada to assist with this effort. (30 min)
