As a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, I am excited to share with you some thoughts on the power of touch communication with your children. Positive touch in our lives supports our mental and physical health. Massage, for infants, is thought to promote bonding and attachment, improve sleep patterns, relieve colic symptoms and foster growth and development. As a new parent, I was always looking for a better night’s sleep and new ways to get to know my baby.

At one point in my life, I was a real member of the adult world. I used to go out all the time—bars, concerts, fancy restaurants. I saw people with kids but was clueless to the concept of what a parent actually did. When Lauren was pregnant with Benjamin I still didn’t get it, even though she gained 60 lbs in the course of 9½ months.
