Routines in the life of a child provide structure and predictability that can give them a sense of comfort in their daily life. Routines support your child’s self-control, reduce power struggles, guide behavior, and provide opportunity for learning. It’s best to start routines during daily transitions such as getting ready for the day in the morning, leaving your child at child care or school, and bed time. Reduce Holiday Stress- Simplify the Season!

The fast pace of the Holiday months leaves family members of all ages feeling overwhelmed. This can lead to short tempers and emotional roller coasters. First 5 Humboldt partners with the Child Abuse Prevention Coordinating Council and other organizations each year to provide the community with ideas to reduce stress during this time of year. This year the theme is Simplify the Season.
