Parents and other caregivers often ask how to handle it when children “misbehave” or test limits. Sometimes, children are responding to what the adults in their lives are paying the most attention to. Other times, children are struggling to handle big emotions and don’t yet have a strong handle on what they can do to help themselves feel better. Sometimes, they are doing something because they are ex-perimenting or having fun.
